I used to wonder when I was younger why people used to talk about aluminium bikes losing their liveliness over time and I think it is down to the lower fatigue life of aluminium alloys. The small fatigue cracks you can’t even see affect the stiffness of the frame at the welds.

    Keep it solid steel.

so pleased you guys have crossed over into Turkey safely and unscathed. a self driven peregrination from the western world to the far reaches of the Orient can only offer a truly life affirming chain of experiences.

I wish you serendipity and good fortune on the remaining legs of your adventure. if the cosmos rewrites your route into New Delhi, India, you will have a place to stay with my family. if this interests you, you’re welcome to email me in good time.

    RockSteady x

Hey guys! It was good to meet you in the Pamirs on Alichur lonely plateau – 1 month ago !
Hope you are still keeping it up! Unfortunately I could not find much news about your trip on this blog.
As for me I lost my donkey – got probably eaten by wolves, I ran into 4 of them that day – but eventually bought a new one incredibly faster. A Ferrari!
May I ask you guys to send me a few pictures of our meeting?
    Thanks
    Xavier
