Occult gems in NW Iran – Babak Castle, the Immortal castle of Babak Khorramdin – a 8th Century Persian nationalist revolutionary hero who fought the Abbasid Islamic armies from the Arabian Peninsula. There is still a ritual where people climb to the top of the castle every year.

    – Temple of Alamut – Valley of the Assassins – fortress of the Ismailis Assassin cult . Where they used to smoke dope before going on missions. Near Qazvin.

    – Tabriz is supposed to have some of the best and most lively/friendly tea and shisha houses in Iran. Really ancient ones.

Im jealous. Good luck with the visa and speak to Shiraz travel in Victoria – they have a really good success rate.
